Located between the Black Sea and the Caucasian mountains Georgia is well known for its wild nature, breath taking mountains, its ancient history, delicious cuisine, and, since it is the cradle of this prominent beverage, of course, its wine.

Considering its geopolitical location between Europe and Asia, Georgia has a unique climate justice story. Comparably less industrialized, Georgia is considered in many developmental policies as part of the Global South. Serious environmental challenges in the context of climate change have been faced in water resource management along the borderlands, and in deforestation. By bridging local and global efforts Tamta Japaridze will illustrate how small countries like Georgia navigate through global climate justice challenges while addressing regional issues.

Date: Thursday, 22. May, 2025, 6.30 PM

Venue: Imaculada, Wiener-Philharmoniker-Gasse 2, 5020 Salzburg

Speaker: Tamta Japaridze(Tiblis/Innsbruck),student of the Master Program Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Innsbruck

Language: English
